Hey Pals. Oh man, I just celebrated my 33rd birthday this weekend. It was kind of awesome, kind of insane and slightly epic. I was wined and dined, went to a rap show, had breakfast at a restaurant WITHOUT KIDS and took a nap. It was great.
I thought I’d share a few of the things I had on my wish list this year. The things on the top of my list; that newly released 24mm prime lens, followed up by a new pair of Dr. Martens. It seems like only yesterday I was tossing out my old awesomely worn-in pair from junior high – oh wait, it practically was.
Oh yeah, and if you didn’t notice, the 90’s are cool again. I’ve been waiting for this to happen for the last 20 years. I am finally going to be the most fashionable lady around, the teens are going to want to be me! I never want this to end.
Happy Birthday, Scoops!
Half the time I wear my Docs (1 pair silver leather, another pair black knee-highs) I wonder if I look like the sad old lady desperately trying to cling to her fleeting youth. And then, I kinda don’t care because I love my Docs.
Hooray for December birthdays, I’m rolling into 42 at the end of the month!
Thanks, Stacey! Oh man, you are a cool lady too with your two pairs of docs. Happy B-Day to you too! Having a December birthday is kind of a pain when people want to combine your presents, don’t you think?
December birthdays are so bad that I am jealous that yours is at the beginning, when people are still festive. Mine is the 27th, when people are d-o-n-e with all merriment. I spent most birthdays in the late 90s and early 00s on an airplane flying back home because I had to get back to work. No bueno.
If you had siblings, were you always jealous that they got whole outfits for both Christmas and their birthday? I was.
Graduating from high school and college was THE BEST as I got presents not within a 2-day span for the first time ever in my life. I never thought I’d like Mother’s Day (it always felt like a forced holiday), but damn I love a gift at not-Christmastime.
Happy Birthday! I just had mine the weekend before. We are totally on the same 90s wavelength– I am asking for these “mono” Dr. Martens for Christmas:

They can be my “dressy” snow boots, right? If that’s not a thing yet, it should be. There are definitely scenarios where the weather calls for snow boots but the venue does not. These would be perfect.
Oh yeah! I might like it in mono better, didn’t even realize there was such business. Thanks, I will have to let Santa know asap.
I got the mono boots, did you? I wish it wasn’t so cold right now so that I could wear them more.
I love yer 90’s wish list. But you knew that already.
I do know, and I love yours.
