Bedroom Plan

Hey Guys, happy Friday! I meant to get a few posts out this week but we’ve been doing some intensive potty training and life has crazy been busy to say the least. Plus the lady friends and I had a girls night in the middle of the week – it took me most of the next day to recover. Note to self: No tequila shots after 9pm on a school night. I am a bad mom who still likes to think she can party sometimes, whoops.

I’ve been really eager to share with you guys a more refined plan for the bedroom. Now that things are slowly falling into place I can see the big picture beginning to come together. I feel really great that I’ve been able to come in under our budget thus far, and I think I have a lot of good ideas that will help to save even more money as the project continues. I really want to achieve a vintage modern look set off with a bit of Scandinavian influences. I’m really thinking through space planning, making sure that all design elements serve a functional purpose in the space, while also relating to one another aesthetically.

So here’s the plan!

Painting the Ikea Stockholm Side Table from yellow to white adding brass hardware and (maybe) painting light-coral dipped legs will achieve an expensive look without having to spend tons of cash.
1: The Bed | 2: Vintage Accents | 3: Brass Hardware | 4: Sconce Lighting | 5: Duvet & Shams | 6: Lamb Hair Accent Pillow | 7: Indigo Quilt (the best bedding I have ever owned) | 8: Light Pink Linen Pillow Cases | 9: Indigo Sheets
I plan on installing a corner shelving system using Ash wood – similar in style on the left but fitted for a corner area like on the right.
1: Vintage Bertoia Diamond Chair in White | 2: Sheepskin | 3: Brass Task Lamp
I picked up an old cedar lined chest of drawers from my Aunt’s house. The dresser is in rough shape but with a little TLC, a new paint job and replacement legs, I think it will look pretty awesome in this space.
1: Ranarp Desk Lamp | 2: White Modern Planter | 3: Furniture Legs with Brass | 4: Full Length Mirror

Is that blanket warm enough in the winter? I am so effing over my comforter coming out of the cover and just being an annoying ball of feathers.

Cam-a-lama-bing-bam! It is so the best winter quilt. It’s big and heavy!. We throw it on top of our feather duvet and it is a highly tyte combo. I would recommend it if you are looking for a cozy winter quilt.

wow, I love all of this! especially the plan for the side tables – and i am now fully lusting after that bed!

Thanks Laura! We still say out loud every night when we go to bed, “I love this bed”. It feels so good.

oooOOOOOOoooo! It’s all coming together! LOVE that sconce, it’s just gorgeous! I wanted it, too, but we put in a fence and got a dog so my budget was limited to Ranarp sconce! And THANK YOU for linking that vase, I have been searching for something that size and shape for a while now.

Stacey! Thanks so much. I love the Ranarp light too, lots. Ikea really knocked it out of the park on that one. A fence and a dog is a pretty good trade ;) That vase is pretty cool, and nicely priced. I’m excited to get something green growing in there.

I bought those West Elm arrow patterned sheets on account of their adorable-ness, but be forewarned: THEY ARE STIFF AS HELL. I’ve had similar experiences with other West Elm sheet sets. It’s a damn shame.

Hey Kate, that’s too bad about the sheets. I purchased mine last winter and I never noticed them being too stiff. Especially after a few washings, they are soft now, and never have bothered me. I wonder if they changed the sheet material at some point?

I love these picks! Your room is going to be fabulous, and maybe rather similar to mine :-)
My bedside tables are very similar to that white one (from West Elm), I have that very same CB2 geometric planter in my bedroom, and those Schoolhouse Electric scones are sitting upstairs, waiting to be hung on our walls. I haven’t used them yet, but we liked them enough in person to buy them. And if those darn West Elm sheets hadn’t been sold out for months, I’d have bought them, too. Great taste, lady ;-)

Yep lady, sounds like we have the same taste! Do you have the white side tables from West Elm? Those are the ones that I really want, and was trying to figure out a way to get a similar look – thus painting the ikea ones white instead. I really, really love those WE ones though. How do you just let sconces sit unpacked, you’re crazy! I would’ve had those up as soon as the UPS man dropped them off. Did you get the white and brass too? You’re gonna love them, can’t wait to order mine. Hoping that they bring back those sheets, I’d like to get a back up set.

wonderful post, very informative. I’m wondering why the opposite specialists of this sector do not notice this.
You should proceed your writing. I am sure, you’ve a great readers’ base already!

I’m OBSESSED with that bed! Great great choice. How’s the weave of the fabric though? I’m afraid my cats would walk across it and just tear it up.
