I don’t think I mentioned that Elsa has headed off to daily preschool after spending weekdays at our house for the last year and a half. We are so happy for her and her new life adventures, but we miss her like crazy!
Last weekend Finn and his old bud were reunited for the first time in a few weeks. Elsa had received multiple pairs of ice skates for Christmas gifts and she needed to share them with Finn. The kids headed out to the local park to give ice skating a try last Saturday. Minneapolis parks are awesome and provide skates and trainer bars for free, it’s pretty tyte of them.
Elsa is an old pro at this skating thing and was doing double lutz axels and triple salchows (totally had to google that spelling) all over the place. This was Finn’s first time and although he wasn’t doing any cool spins he was making his way around the rink. They seriously both did great, and can’t wait to go again.
It makes me happy to see these guys together.
Love this! I can’t wait for Gus and Penny to go too! Great way to break up a winter day!
Yup, those love birds will be lutzin’ before we know it.
Adorable! Do they have adult training bars, too? And, is that blood on the ice? Gah!
What?! I had no idea Mpls parks provide free skate rentals! And here I’ve been taking my kid to indoor suburban arenas and paying for skate rental like a sucker. Is this at ALL Mpls parks??
Yeah, it’s awesome. I think most of the skates are donated and they are available first come first serve basis. Here’s a link to the Minneapolis Parks and Rec ice rinks page.
Looks like every MPLS park participates except Nokomis.
