You all know that I’ve cleaned up the hardware on the doors in our bedroom throughout the spring. They look amazing and I love them but I still had one nagging problem, the main door set didn’t close/latch properly. It also didn’t have a lock on it, and certain bedrooms need a lock (don’t get all grossed out on me now). The time had come for us to replace the bedroom door hardware with something more functional.

I had received a Rejuvenation catalog (lighting and house parts) in the mail awhile back and it was the first place I looked when trying to find modern a reproduction of the vintage door hardware I was seeking. If you have an old house and haven’t checked out their site you need to! They specialize in vintage lighting reproductions, but in my opinion their hardware selection is where it’s really at. Restoration hardware – get out of here! I ordered up a new oil rubbed bronze plate with a thumb turn and a new mortise privacy lock to go with it. I did have to carve out a bit of space in my bedroom door for the new lock to fit but it was no thang, and within an hour we were up and running. Not only did our bedroom door now close properly, it also locked. Score 1 for the grownups!
