So I’ve been focusing all my free time on getting our new house up and running. I thought I’d take a second and fill you in on a little kitchen update. In a fit of inspiration I ran out to the paint store and started painting my kitchen this pretty turquoise color. I’ve been fighting with my inherited copper backsplash ever since I moved in. I’ve debated painting it, removing it, re-tiling etc, etc. In the end I decided the easiest thing to do would be to live with it a little bit until I knew exactly what I/We wanted. The easiest way to incorporate the orange metal tiles was to change the paint color in an attempt to make the tiles seems more intended. You can see the before and after pictures above. I know that it’s nothing dramatic but it changes the whole feel of the space from stuffy and grown up to young and fun, (just like us guys)
The paint color inspired me to make these pretty cafe curtains. The fabric is designed by Heather Bailey, and the patterns is called “Church Flower“. I love them.
Here’s a close up. My yellow table that I’ve been hauling around for 10 years finally make sense somewhere.
This is still a work in progress, as you can see my walls are still pretty bare. Next step; artwork with yellow frames or a collection of bright yellow plates. We’ll have to wait and see.
I found these canisters on etsy, along with the yellow enamel tea kettle pictured below. I am currently hunting for a yellow breadbox to sit in my pantry/prep area. I’ll let you know what sort of awesome things I end up finding.
Lookin' good Scoops!
