Only ten days till Finn’s 1st Birthday party and I haven’t started doing much of anything, so since I had the day off of work today I try and make a valiant effort at getting some pre-party work done. I decide that I am going to make little flags for Finn’s bday cupcakes, some will say “Finn” and the rest will say “1”. Since I’m trying to do everything as affordable as possible I try my hand at potato stamps. In case anyone else ever wants to give this a shot, remember, you always want to carve your words in a mirror image so that it will print forwards not backwards.
I grab some house paint and start stamping away with the new reverse facing stamps.
I’ve got all my Finn’s in a row.
The almost finished product. All I need is a toothpick and a cupcake.
Finn and I take a trip to the Litin Everything Party & Paper store and stock up on crepe paper tissue balls, and colored plates, napkins and silverware.
Here’s one of the tissue balls hanging, just so you know what I am talking about. I think they’re so pretty.
The other thing I’ve been working on is making Finn’s Birthday garland. I have all the letter stitched except one, now I just need to add yarn to hang from, and attach with doll pins.
