I’ve always had a love hate relationship with the woodwork in our living room. I appreciate its history and age, but at the same time have been frustrated by its heaviness. It has taken years, but after lots of trial and error, I have finally realized the only way to fight fire is with fire. The dark moody walls now play nice with the baseboards and trim. White accents and light colored upholstery help to bounce light around the space. Although it’s dark it always feels warm and sophisticated and sets the tone for the main floor of our home.
